How to add my virtual card to ApplePay/Google Wallet

You can add your virtual GiveCard to Apple Pay or Google Wallet and use your phone to make contactless purchases in stores.

Important: Only virtual GiveCards can be added to Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Physical GiveCards cannot be added to a digital wallet.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • Your virtual GiveCard
  • Your card number, expiration date, and security code
  • Access to the email address or phone number associated with your GiveCard
  • An iPhone for Apple Pay or an Android phone that supports Google Wallet and NFC

During setup, you may be asked to verify your card. The verification code will be sent to the email address or phone number associated with your GiveCard.

How to add your GiveCard to Google Wallet

  1. Make sure NFC is turned on in your Android phone's settings. NFC allows your phone to make contactless payments.
  2. Open the Google Wallet app.
  3. Select "Add to Wallet."
  4. Enter your virtual GiveCard information.
  5. When prompted, choose the verification method you recognize (email or phone).
  6. Enter the verification code you receive to complete the setup.

How do I use my GiveCard with Google Wallet?

Once your card has been added, you can use it at participating contactless payment terminals:

  1. Unlock your phone.
  2. Hold your phone near the card reader.
  3. Wait for the confirmation/checkmark showing that your payment was completed.

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the "+" button to add a card.
  3. Enter your virtual GiveCard information manually.
  4. When prompted, verify your card using the email address or phone number associated with your GiveCard.
  5. Enter the verification code you receive to complete the setup.

How do I use my GiveCard with Apple Pay?

Once your card has been added:

  1. Double-click the side button on your iPhone.
  2. Select your GiveCard if it is not already selected.
  3. Hold your iPhone near the contactless card reader.
  4. Wait for the confirmation that your payment was completed.

Where will I receive my verification code?

Your verification code will be sent to the email address or phone number associated with your GiveCard.

GiveCard may have either your email address or your phone number, but not necessarily both.

If you see an unfamiliar email address or phone number during the verification process, it may be a system-generated address used for account security. This is part of the automatic verification process and cannot be changed.

I received an error when trying to add my card. What should I do?

If Apple Pay or Google Wallet gives you an error while adding your GiveCard:

  1. Remove the card from your digital wallet if it was partially added.
  2. Wait and try adding the card again later.
  3. Make sure you are using the correct virtual GiveCard information.
  4. Make sure you have access to the email address or phone number shown for verification.

Important: Apple Pay or Google Wallet may temporarily block repeated attempts. If you have tried several times, wait before trying again.

Can I add my physical GiveCard to Apple Pay or Google Wallet?

No. Physical GiveCards are not currently supported for Apple Pay or Google Wallet.

Only virtual GiveCards can be added.

Will my GiveCard work everywhere once I add it to my digital wallet?

Adding your GiveCard to Apple Pay or Google Wallet does not change the spending rules on your card.

Your GiveCard may have program-specific spending restrictions or additional purchase rules. These rules still apply when you use your card through Apple Pay or Google Wallet.

For example, if your program restricts certain types of purchases or merchants, adding your card to a digital wallet will not remove those restrictions.

If a purchase is declined, check whether the transaction or merchant is allowed under your program's spending rules.
